Biography

I currently am in the final year of pursuing my doctorate in Industrial/Organizational Psychology at Louisiana Tech University. The focus of my academics outside of coursework has been on Psychometrics (e.g., IRT, CAT), Development of Assessments, and Selection. This includes working with the development of a numeric sequence Automatic Item Generation (AIG) test in PHP as part of Dr. Tilman Sheet's Katyem Lab and my own dissertation that involves the development and validation of a Situational Judgement Test, utilizing a novel scoring method.

Additionally, for Applied Research for Organizational Solutions (AROS), I am currently working with large data (state-wide teacher retention initiative) and developing a shiny dashboard to disseminate results. Recently, I led an initiative to gauge several key areas of concern regarding COVID-19 at Lousiana Tech University alongside the Vice President, sharing findings with administration, deans, and various action teams. Other recent projects include leading a university-wide climate survey and helping conduct a Job Analysis for a Louisiana Police Department.

Consultant, Project Oversight

AROS

Mentor incoming project leaders, facilitate information transfer and client introductions, aid with project tasks and/or management as needed.

State-Wide Teacher Retention Initiative

AROS

  • Usage of statistics and data visualization to present results from large dataset to non-statistically literate audience.

  • Dashboard developed in markdown, using R for analyses and Shiny for interaction

AROS

Tasks include project planning, developing a scope of work, delegating tasks to members, interacting with clients, promoting good business relationships for subsequent work opportunities, and monitoring for adjustments after deliverables are sent.

COVID-19 Response Initiative

AROS

  • Led a team in assessing the University's initial handing of the pandemic.

  • Includes working with the client in developing a measure to address necessary areas of concern, distributing the developed survey to all members of the university, analyzing results and reporting findings.

  • Analyses included quantitative and qualitative methods which were then distilled into both a thorough report and more streamlined presentation to various stakeholders.

2019 - 2020

Consultant, Project Associate

Produce deliverables, working primarily with R, Excel and PowerPoint. Develop necessary team skills to efficiently deal with interdependent tasks.

University-Wide Climate Survey

AROS

  • Assessed psychometrics of the survey based upon results from the 2018 iteration of the survey.

  • In lieu of COVID-19, worked with the clients in improving future iterations.

  • Includes making the survey (both development and findings) more accessible to the entire university. 

  • Began discussions on developing a database to keep track of (and allow public access to) data from all university surveys to prevent future survey fatigue and avoid overlap.

Jefferson County Commission Human Resources

Assess candidate qualifications for various positions in a unique method developed to reduce adverse impact.

Police Department Job Analysis

AROS

  • ​Began process of conducting a thorough Job Analysis of a police department to then inform their selection measures.

  • Focus on reducing adverse impact due to historical concerns.

  • Used past responses from SMEs and various sources of information (e.g., O*Net) to compile initial list of KSAO's for SME's to rate.
